Last week, the entire Pyramid Group – composed of UpSlide and Finance 3.1 – traveled to Marbella, Spain, for a two-day corporate seminar. Beyond many team building activities such as canyoning, it was the opportunity to work on our ways of communicating and working together. Be ready to set out on an exciting journey!
For those of you who are not familiar with the story of Pyramid, it’s the name of a Group made up of two entities sharing the same mission, office, seminars, sports sessions and much more: UpSlide and Finance 3.1. Our mission: Help People Work Better – more efficiently, for a high-quality result and with pleasure.
Today, we are about fifty people maintaining a fulfilling work atmosphere and delivering high-quality work on a daily basis. This year’s seminar was the opportunity to celebrate our achievements and gather around our 3 common values:
We share the same values and belief but we all have different natures, tempers and ways of communicating. That’s why we wanted to spend some time working on the personality of Pyramid and its members, and especially on how better understand each other. In particular, the DISC personality test helped us find out how to adapt our behavior depending on the profile of the person we’re speaking with or the situation.
DISC measures patterns of behavior to produce a profile describing your tendencies, needs, preferred environment and strategies for effective behavior. It also gives insight into your strengths and weaknesses. The DISC questionnaire asks about how you respond to challenges, how you influence others, how you respond to rules and procedures, and about your preferred pace of activity… to map behavioral traits:
✓ Dominance: direct, strong-willed and forceful
✓ Influence: sociable, talkative and lively
✓ Steadiness: gentle, accommodating and soft-hearted
✓ Conscientiousness: private, analytical and logical
A great way to discover how to improve our communication processes and better work together!
With this in mind, we took the occasion to know each other better during a feedback workshop… on the beach! What better way of nurturing our culture of trust and benevolence?
